This course walks you through three complete builds: a radius stoop, a walkway with curved seat walls, and a grand entrance with columns and inlay work. Each includes a design class in SketchUp explaining the why behind every layout — even if you don’t use design software, you’ll learn principles every hardscaper should know.

Build 1: Two-Step Radius Stoop
What You'll Learn:
- Setting radius curves and aligning to thresholds
- Building block courses and proper base heights
- Gluing and cutting caps on a radius
- Laying a running bond pattern in the landing
- Cutting and setting border pavers cleanly
Build 2 – Walkway with Curved Seat Walls
What You’ll Learn:
- Screeding and setting bedding layers for walkways
- Using string lines to keep heights and patterns straight
- Cutting curves and installing border pavers
- Building a curved freestanding seat wall with an accent band & ledge stone
- Applying edge restraint
Build 3 – Grand Entrance with Columns & Inlay
What You’ll Learn:
- Building freestanding columns from base to cap
- Adding accent bands for a high-end look
- Preparing patio bedding layer and laying borders
- Overlaying and cutting paver patterns cleanly
- Adding intricate inlays (lightning bolt design) with the cookie cutter method
